Hi! I'm Tiiu

Since you’re probably wondering how my name is pronounced: in English it sound a bit like Dee-you. I originate from the foresty and a little bit mysterious little country in the north of Europe called Estonia, and this is where the name comes from as well. They say the meaning in old Estonian might be something like a little bird.

As the little bird that I am, I’ve flown over many countries and continents in my lifetime and landed in Berlin, where I’m based since 2021. I’ve been active as a creative for more than 10 years now, initially in the fine arts (painting), but for the last 5-6 years I’ve moved into graphic and motion design.

Why do I love design?

Because it gives me a chance to solve real-world problems and build systems that work. I’m convinced that design is more than just aesthetics – at it’s core it’s about storytelling, strategy and impact. Moreover, I strongly believe that design is a social activity and should benefit the society at large. Therefore, social impact, responsibility and empathy should be at the forefront of our activity.

My work spans across digital and analogue, with experience in social media content, video creation and editing and print design. However, my special interest within the design field is motion, because I love movement and to make things move.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve gained experience and developed my expertise in using Adobe After Effects as well as Blender to create motion graphics as enhancement to videos or as standalone visual assets.

I’d be happy to support your project—whether you need comprehensive corporate branding, including strategy and storytelling, or simply eye-catching flyers or motion assets for your videos.

Feel free to reach out, and we can explore how I can contribute to your goals!

When I'm not designing…

You may find me roaming the art museums, galleries and any other exciting venues of Berlin, finding endless inspiration in this world's creativity. I also love to move my body and be active, whether in a dance class or at the gym. One of my newest hobbies is baking sourdough bread, as I'm slowly learning how to transform flour, water and salt into crunchy and soft loaves of magic.
